Why Trump Is So Dangerous
Hiya!
With the U.S. Presidential elections right around the corner, I decided to spend this month’s video tackling Trump, Project 2025, and the looming threat of fossil fascism. I’ve already made a video talking extensively on the global rise of fascism and its connections to climate change in the form of ecofascism and fossil fascism, but as Trump attempts to seize power once more, I felt it was important to more deeply examine the consequences of a Trump regime. If you’re interested in what I’ve learned, check out the video below or peruse the three quotes and three links I uncovered during my research.
Three Quotes:
“Project 2025 proposals aim to scale down the federal government and empower states. The document calls for “unleashing all of America’s energy resources” by eliminating federal restrictions on fossil fuel drilling on public lands, curtailing federal investments in renewable energy technologies, and easing environmental permitting restrictions and procedures for new fossil fuel projects such as power plants.”
— Grist
“Put another way, the extra 4GtCO2e from a second Trump term would negate – twice over – all of the savings from deploying wind, solar and other clean technologies around the world over the past five years.
— Carbon Brief
“Fascism is a politics of palingenetic ultranationalism that comes to the fore in a conjuncture of deep crisis, and if leading sections of the dominant class throw their weight behind it and hand it power, there ensues an exceptional regime of systematic violence against those identified as enemies of the nation.”
— White Skin, Black Fuel
